On October 16th, 2017, President Jeffrey Tsai and Director Chun-Wei Lin of Center for Creative Leadership of Asia University (AU) led a total of 45 AU student and faculty representatives to conduct in-depth discussion at the 2017 Nobel Forum with Oliver Hart, the 2016 Nobel laureate in economics.

Five student representatives from the Department of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (DASLP) were elected to join the Forum, including two sophomores, Chih-En Liu and Yu-Hsuan Huang, and three freshmen, Ting-Yi Liao, Jin Chen, and Bai-Jia Chen.

During the event, the AU representatives engaged in face-to-face conversation with Professor Hart, pointing out numerous economic issues within the society. Professor Hart expressed that he was impressed by AU students’ questions raised from international perspectives.

Asia University has been dedicating to encouraging students to develop their knowledge from diverse fields. The representative positions for the Forum, therefore, were opened to all colleges at AU.

The Nobel Forum is an annual event held by the Economic Daily News since 2007, with 14 Nobel Memorial Laureates in economics being invited to date. Asia University has begun co-organizing the Forum with the Economic Daily News since last year, and will continue the collaboration with the aim of assisting students to not only thrive in their field of profession, but enhance the ability to integrate knowledge from different areas in their future career.
